Verse 1

G Rock of Ages, C cleft for G me,
 let me hide myD self in G Thee
 Let the D water D7 and the G blood,
 from Thy D wounded D7 side which G flowed
 Be  of  sin  the C double G cure;
 save from wrath and D make me G pure.

Verse 2

G Not the labors C of my G hands,
 can fulfill Thy D law's deG mands
 Could my D zeal no D7 respite G know,
 could my D tears forD7 ever G flow
 All  for  sin  could C not  aG tone;
 Thou must save, and D Thou aG lone.

Verse 3

G Nothing  in  my C hand  I G bring,
 simply to the D cross I G cling
 Naked, D come  to D7 Thee  for G dress;
 helpless, D look to D7 Thee for G grace
 Foul,  I  to  the C fountain G fly;
 wash me, Savior, D or I G die.

Verse 4

G While  I  draw  this C fleeting G breath,
 when mine eyes shall D close in G death
 When I D soar to D7 worlds unG known,
 see D Thee on Thy D7 judgment G throne
 Rock of Ages, C cleft for G me,
 let me hide myD self in G Thee.
