Edward Mote (music by William Bradbury)

Order

Verse 1

My D hope is built on A nothing less
Than G Jesus' blood and A righteousD ness.
I D dare not trust the A sweetest frame,
But G wholly lean on A Jesus' D name.

Chorus

On D Christ, the solid G Rock I stand,
 All D other  ground  is D/F# sinking A sand;
All Bm other ground is A sinking D sand.

Verse 2

When D darkness veils His A lovely face,
I G rest on His unA changing D grace.
In D every high and A stormy gale,
My G anchor holds withA in the D veil.

Verse 3

His D oath, His covenA ant, His blood,
SuppG ort me in the A whelming D flood.
When D all around my A soul gives way,
He G then is all my A hope and D stay.

Verse 4

When D He shall come with A trumpet sound,
Oh G may I then in A Him be D found.
Dressed D in His righteousA ness alone,
FaultG less to stand beA fore the D throne.
